Prevention is by far the best method of avoiding unnecessary pain and injury that may keep you from playing. Although many accidents are unpredictable, there are a number of proactive ways you can help prevent injuries from occurring.
Tip #1: Stretch and warm up your muscles
One of the easiest ways to help prevent injury is to stretch. By warming up your muscles, you make them more flexible which allows you to move your joints through their full range of motion. Practice these stretches before the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon!
Tip #2: Drink lots of water
Playing in hot weather results in extra fluid loss or dehydration so remember to drink before, during and after each leg of the TRYathlon.
Tip #3: Go at your own pace
Doing too much too soon may cause injury. Don’t exert yourself too far beyond your level of fitness. Just take your time and go at your own pace.
But, if you do happen to experience a fall, cut, strain or sprain, there’s an Elastoplast product to help you get up again! For cuts and grazes, use the new Elastoplast Wound Care Routine to heal wounds up to two times faster. It’s three simple steps:
- Cleanse the wound fast and pain-free with the Elastoplast Wound Spray for protection from infection.
- For protection from dirt and bacteria, cover your wound with an Elastoplast plaster or wound dressing.
- For faster healing and lower risk of scarring, apply Elastoplast Wound Healing Ointment regularly until the wound has visibly healed. If necessary, re-cover using an Elastoplast plaster or wound dressing.
Good luck and most importantly, remember to have fun!
