Hey TRYathlon family, we hope that you are all well and keeping safe during this time.

Our team have managed to secure new dates for all remaining events in our 2020 Sanitarium Kids TRYathlon Series. Our decisions are guided by the latest health advice, which will we continue to monitor as we reach our new event date.

As an existing registered participant, you will remain entered for the new dates. However, if these dates are not suitable for you to attend, you will be able to request a full refund up until a month out from the new event dates. If you are a registered participant, you will receive updates regarding the event from July on wards. Thank you for your patience whilst we work through the logistics of the event postponement.

All new registrations are currently on hold. If you would like us to prompt you with an email when we are open again, please enter your email address into the form and we will contact you as soon as they open. We plan to open registration again on 1 July.

We will continue to liaise with the necessary authorities throughout our planning to ensure the health and safety of all participants. We will keep you updated regularly and are available at info@tryathlon.com.au should you have any questions at all. We can’t wait to deliver an amazing community event when the time is right. The Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra will come alive with over 1,000 Weet-Bix Kids TRYathletes cheered on as they swim, ride and run by thousands of supporters. TRYathletes will use the very same facilities where many great Australian sporting careers have begun. The swim will take place in a 50m indoor pool before the TRYathletes move onto the bike and run. Splash&Dash (6 – 15 years): Please select this option if the participant is entering as an individual and is completing just a swim and run by themselves.

Individual TRYathlon (7 – 15 years): Please select this option if the participant is entering as an individual and is completing all three legs (swim, bike and run) of the TRYathlon by themselves.

Junior Team (7 – 10 years): One team member completes the swim, one team member completes the cycle and both complete the run.
Senior Team (11- 15 years): One team member completes the swim, one team member completes the cycle and both complete the run.

Both team members must meet age requirements.

ENTERING A TEAM

Please select either Junior or Senior Team depending on the age of the participants. Enter the first participant and enter the Team Name when prompted.

If you are entering both team members, click ‘Add another Registration when you reach the check-out page. You will be taken back to the start to enter your second Participant. Enter the same Team Name when prompted.

If you are not entering both team members, ensure the parent or guardian entering the second participant knows the correct Team Name you have added when entering your child.

Entry fees vary based on the date you enter.
Early Bird Entry and 3+Family discounts are available.
On the Day entries are available unless the event sells out prior.

Your Bib Number will be posted free of charge however a postage fee of $8.75 will apply in order to receive your FULL TRYathlete Kit.

TRYathlete Kit and Bib Number

During your online entry you would have selected how you would like to receive your TRYathlete Kit. If you don’t remember which TRYathlete Pack option you selected you can refer to your confirmation email or log in to your registration.

If you need to change your address, please do so before the deadline date outlined below. You can change your address by logging in to your registration.

You would have chosen between Express Check In ($8.75) and Regular Check In (Free). This determines what you receive in the post and which check in lane you use on the event day.

Full TRYathlete Kit Delivery (Express Check In)

If you selected the Express Check In option during your online entry, you will receive your Full TRYathlete Kit in the post before the event. Your full TRYathlete Kit will include:

You will receive your Swim Cap when you Check In on the morning of the event.

Bib Number Delivery (Regular Check In)

If you selected the Regular Check In option during your online entry, you will only receive your Bib Number in the post before the event.

You will receive your full TRYathlete Kit and your Swim Cap when you Check In on the morning of the event.

If you need to change the size of your t-shirt or something is missing then please come to the Manual Pick Up Tent on the event day and we can assist you there.

Arriving at the TRYathlon

The TRYathlon opens at 8:00am. You need to be checked in and have your gear set up in transition by 9:20am. Please allow enough time to find a car park, walk to the venue, check in and set up in transition.

What to do when you arrive

  1. If you have entered EXPRESS Check In and have your TRYathlon Tshirt:
    When you arrive, head straight to EXPRESS Scan Check In (outside Transition) with your bib number written on the front of your right shin and right forearm, and have your bib number sticker ready to be scanned by one of our friendly Help Team members. You will be given your swim cap at the scan check in.
  2. If you have entered REGULAR Check In and do not have your TRYathlon Tshirt:
    When you arrive, head straight to Regular Tshirt Collection, next to Transition. Once you have collected your Tshirt, proceed to the REGULAR Scan Check In with your bib number written on the front of your right shin and right forearm, and have your bib number sticker ready to be scanned by one of our friendly Help Team members. You will be given your swim cap at the scan check in.
  3. If you are a BUPA MEMBER:
    When you arrive, head straight to BUPA MEMBER Check with your bib number written on the front of your right shin and right forearm, and have your bib number sticker ready to be scanned by one of our friendly Help Team members. You will be given your swim cap at the scan check in.

a. you need to change your entry details or
b. you need to change your t-shirt size

Event & Weather Updates

We understand that the bushfires are having a major impact on our country and our hearts go out to everyone affected. We are constantly monitoring the air conditions and will update all participants if the status of the event changes. The safety of our participants, volunteers and staff members is top priority and thus all decisions will be made with their health and safety in mind.

What is the SPLASH & DASH?

Designed for Aussie Kids who are transitioning into the world of TRYathlon, the Splash & Dash will see our budding TRYathlete’s complete a pool swim followed by a run, before crossing the finish line to receive their champion’s medal from one of Australia’s’ top sporting stars.

The Splash & Dash is the perfect preparation for the full TRYathlon.

Spaces are strictly limited so make sure you enter today.

The course:

Swim:  The swim distance will depend on your child’s age. Please refer to the distance by age table below for more information. Kick-boards will be available and there will be lifeguards in the water at all times.

Transition:  On completing the swim they will then run into the Transition area, change into their shoes, towel and their Weet-Bix event T-Shirt (which you would have laid out for them prior to the event starting) Our Help team will be on hand in the transition area to assist them getting changed and tying their shoelaces.

Run: The children will then finish with a run to complete the Splash & Dash, and receive their champions medal. Parents will be able to wait at the finish line to cheer them on.
